In order for us to unlock additional value in mining at a lower risk we need data. The DAAS model that PwC are developing for MMP addresses this need and provides the project plan, processes, change plan and step by step guide for a mine to adopt DAAS for mining. The idea is that the mine does not have to uproot its IT/OT and architectures - instead DAAS provides a step by step project guide to adopt DAAS. There is a large change component - mine staff from top to bottom will need to collect, store and manage data as a KPI.
Ian, your final sentence is very important. For systems like Daas to become and remain effective, we need new processes to ensure continuous feed. Do we need an on-mine Data Matters strategy?
